The Skull Sectioned is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519). It dates from 1489, and is one of his very first anatomical studies. It showcased, very early on, da Vinci’s incredible natural ability to blend art and science in a very special way. This is one of the first of many other anatomical drawing that were to come later. Behold genius!
